The Norfolk County Teachers Association, is the oldest teachers’ group in the country, it was founded by Franklin’s own Horace Mann. The NCTA is an organization dedicated to the service of teachers and students. Each year the NCTA honors teachers, para professional and or community members who has display exemplary service to their school districts. This year (2017). NCTA honored Tia Graham, Mrs. Graham has been active at the Young school for over 20 years. She has been an advocate for her own four children as well as all of the Young school students. Patrice Barry, Kindergarten Teacher at the Young School is the teacher award winner. Mrs. Barry has been a REA building representative for 10 years and an NCTA director for four. Her ongoing energy, passion and love of kindergarten is an inspiration to the school community. Honorees are chosen by their peers each year.
